Day 35: 4/8/12
Only had about 2hours of dozing really last night- no proper sleep! So I'm wrecked!
The place I had picked to sleep was actually the gate our flight was boarding at so that was handy! The flight was about 2 1/2 hours long to Buenos Aires. I slept through a lot of it though so it flew! Every flight gives drink and a snack so that passes the time too!
I had to go through more immigration in buenos aires but no forms this time- a camera which I presume took a photo and a fingerprint machine! Then I found departures and headed in there. I had about four hours to kill, so wandered round restaurants and shops n stuff n read on my phone. Nothing very exciting! Eventually it was time to go on the plane. The flight only took about two hours this time and I slept again so it was grand.
Salta airport was small- only two baggage carousels. After all the connections I was afraid my bag wouldn't make it but it did- I was delighted to see the corofin colours coming round the carousel!
There was a taxi driver waiting for me and he brought me to the hostel. I knew from the picture that the outside was just a gate really but the inside was nice enough. She couldn't find my reservation for a while and I was wondering what was wrong but then she realised I was in a dorm. I was supposed to be in a six-bed dorm but she brought me to a room with a double bed and one set of bunk beds. She told me to take the double as there wouldn't be anyone else in the dorm. So much for talking dorm rooms so I could meet people!
I went for a wander up the town and the main square is really close, only about two minutes walk. That's why I booked this hostel- I didn't want to be too far away from the main square. I had dinner in the square. The Olympics were on- Argentina were playing men's basketball, women's hockey and men's volleyball all at the same time. There were a few Argentinians glues to the tv.
I went back to the hostel then and there was still no sign of any guests- only the people working here. If some people don't appear soon I might have to think about moving, even though I think this place is closest to everything, unless I pay a fortune for a fancy hotel!
Skyped home then. Mighty to hear everyone in great fettle after the wedding! (Is that how you spell fettle?!?- probably not) I'll be waiting to hear the reports on the sore heads in the morning!!
Only 4 hours time difference here, so makes it a bit easier!

Mam I,d say that would pass a spelling test for ' fettle' alright. It was great to see you on skype last night. the skype reception was so much better. I,d say heads were only midling this morn. Dad had to introduce Tom to the Greenore whiskey from Cooley. It seemed to go down well last night but we will check his report today to get the true picture. Enjoy Salta!
