So, apparently there is nothing to do in Pakse. We arrived full of hope of finding somewhere new and exciting, but after we'd walked down the one road, and round the corner to the temple, we had pretty much covered all that Pakse had to offer.
The night bus we arrived on was much more comfortable than the last, it had actual beds on! A luxury we hadn't encountered yet. The odd thing being they were beds for two...Which was fine for us travelling as a pair. But what if you are travelling solo? Well we soon found out as the guy behind us was soon joined by a local and the two of them cosy-ed up together for the night, and it was cosy. The 'bed' was about 5'7" (I just managed to lie straight if I really squished a bit - Sean was a wiggly worm, trying to fit in any which way he could) and the width was just about that of a single bed. So bad luck if you are alone and the person next to you smells or is a weirdo. So bad luck for me being next to Sean! Jokes jokes. Though Sean very loudly insisted I keep my shoes on.
In the evening on the balcony we met a Scottish couple, Leigh and Mikey. After a while they bullied us into going on the motorbike trip around the area with them. Seeing as we had carefully planned the next few days for ourselves, we thought hey - why not. Our plans changed and we prepared for a few days on the road!!
