Day 7 - 20th Haines Junction to Watson Lake - 643km
Sign Post Forrest
The ride to Watson Lake was fairly straight forward. I decided to take a more scenic route, as the sign post said, which added 80km to the day's trip. Tried to find a coffee at one town, I went into a gravel car park that turned out to be a dead end, when I attempted a u-turn the front wheel dug into a sand run and I was down. I guess it was a soft drop and no harm was caused except my embarrassment from the locals looking on.
The only interest in Watson Lake was the 'Sign Post Forrest'. There are some 55,000 sign posts in this spot, hope you can read the photo of how it came about.
The RV Parks are really handy, they only charge $10 - $15 a night and some have Wi-Fi that covers the whole park.
Of to the Stewart Cassiar Highway tomorrow, I've been looking forward to this one.
Cheers
Greg
