Home sweet home... I love it here. But glancing back at photos of my trip to Spain this year have made me reminiscent of travelling. The utter freedom, the breathtaking views which we encountered on a daily basis, the incredible heat, the pool, the alcohol, the memories we created with all these things.
My best friend Liam accompanied me in July, and another of my friends flew out half way through the holiday to join us. The second we got back to England we missed our little villa, Casa Gina. I say little, she was bigger than most places in England! 3 double bedrooms, 2 beautiful bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, a large living room with English sky TV accompanied by a balcony where we often had breakfast, a roof top terrace where we sunbathed a lot and of course, the pool. Rather incredible for the price, which was around £700. Flights were £120 return with Ryanair, although we flew to Malaga which was 1+1/2 hours away, but we got an arranged lift for €70. Having never been before, I fell in love with Spain the moment I arrived. It's hard not to when you're immersed in the real culture of the place, like in Nigüelas. It's really Spanish, with cobbled streets and little shops and bars. It seems everything is cheaper out there too!
So to conclude, I am arranging another trip to this beautiful area for next year, and inviting a few of my friends. So that's one part of my gap year planned!
Check my photo album 'niguelas' to see picture of the villa and places we went to.
