Soooo Sydney was awesome! Arrivd there very early in the morning on saturday the 7th and Sarah was there to pick us up. It was great to see her. Then when we got back to their home we were introduced to James and the boys, Max and Harry-who announced we were their new sisters! They are awesome little guys!
So Til went to bed and I went with the clan upto the main street in Balmain (where they live, about 5 mins bus ride to the city centre.) ad we had breakfast outside a little cafe and I had turkish bread for the first time----reeeeeally good stuff! After breakfast they all went shopping and i headed home for a bath and a sleep! And that night we had our first aussie indian take away whilst james and sarah went out for some food, it was a bit different but still good!
The following day we woke up late and it was easter so the boys were all excited and covered in chocolate, we went for a walk down the front harbour on the complex where they live, very beautiul and relaxing. the sky was very blue and all the water was calm-good stuff. when we got back to the house james had cooked an amazing sunday lunch, so good it could be in competition with nannys dinners (although not quit there, i mean thats an extremely high standard hey nan!)
Next day we all went to Bondi beach, had a look around the beach and along the front in all the shops. and i had the biggest ice cream in all of the world, so big itbruised my hand and i had to through it away because there was soooo much! although i didnt have any expectations of what bondi would be, it was very much as you woul expect. Lots of surfers, a big long busy beach-not so much that eberyone was crammed on and in each others space just lots of people coming and going. then up on the street theres a main road to cross and then a market and a front street full of shops and take away places and ice cream parlours. its not as clean and fresh looking as most of sydney but its still good! That afternoon we went back home and had our first aussie bbq (allbeit made by an anglish bloke but hes damned good chef so its all good!)
Tuesday we got up and got the ferry to the harbour, actually called circular quays. its hardly any distance to the harbour from balmain but ferrys run everywhere in sydney and are such an easy mode of transport-plus it was fun and we got some good views of the bridge and the opera house. we had a bite to eat oon the front by the opera house, it was gorgeous food and wonderful views it was kinda unreal that we were there. but then the time while we were in sydney didnt quite feel like we were IN SYDNEY, if you get what i mean! lol. that night me, til james and sarah all went for a meal in a restaurant about a 15min walk away called the welcome. i had bangers and mash heehee and it was really good. we were sat ourside with a table heater and were talking and laughing for aaaaages, it was really fun. then on our walk home sarah decided to take us down what i liked to call murders alley. it was roughly a foot wide, pitch black and went on forever! so whilst hurrying through i swear something ran ouver my for and i sh*t myslef and screamed and so did til, it was hystrical! euch cockroaches and all sorts of horrid deadly things exist in this counrty and they wonder why i panicked! lol
our final day in sydney we went with sarah and the boys to the aquarium which i thought was absolutely fab and i spent the whole time snapping awa y with my camera. we also had a look around the shopping centre nearby and at all the fountains and the park in the area, was lovely.
