Hi All,
Sorry it has been so long since we last wrote, but it has been a hectic week and we haven't had chance to get on the internet. This means that this is the first of five blogs we are going to write today...so pleae check back in an hour if they are not all up here yet.
So as we said last time the flight back was all a bit hurried and last minute. Unfortunately we choose the day of all the storms to fly so we landed in Frankfurt a couple of hours late and missed our connecting flight. We landed with five minutes to get to the next flight so gave it a go which meant I got massive blisters on my hands from the crutches. Luckily the crutches saved the day in the end and allowed us to jump the queue to get on a later flight so we only arrived in Delhi three hours late and got to fly with a better airline. We then had a sleep in Delhi and arranged a driver for the rest of our time in India as I still can't carry my rucksack and trains and long walks to find a hotel are still a bit of a no no. This has turned out to the best thing we have done as now we have Dada. Dada is in his late fifties and has no front teeth because of the amount of tobacco he chews but he has the most amazing knowledge of Rajasthan and in his little Tata car (a bit like a Punto) he has taken us to so many places we would have otherwise missed. When he first picked us up we had to wait in Delhi for three hours whilst he went to get the electrics fixed on his car ....fixed might not be the right word as for the next two days he had to reconnect the wires under the bonnet everytime we stopped. We did eventually head off to our first stop Agra.........
