Hong Kong done:
After the delay of Wednesday I am happy to report that since then everything has managed to work out fairly straightforward. I managed a bit if good fortune as I boarded the flight to Hong Kong when I was informed that I had been upgraded so instead if being squashed against the window I was given a seat on my own meaning that I didn't have to speak to anyone on the flight. Result!! It also allowed me to fart away to my hearts content but u did come unstuck when I got off the plane at HK and forgot that I was in company as u dropped a smassive ripper in front of a tidy passenger!
Hong Kong itself was great. Very strange to be somewhere so warm that is all decorated for Christmas. I went to look at the harbour from the Kowloon side last night and all the landmark buildings were done up in all their Christmas glory. For someone who is accused of being Scrooge like even I was impressed.
The highlight for me was finally locating Man Fuk Road in Kowloon. This is something that we have talk a great deal about at work over the past 2 months, and I felt a bit like Dr Livingstone when I eventually found Victoria Falls*,when I found it. I did make sure I went there in the middle of the day as I wouldn't want to risk going there at the dead if night! Unfortunately I was unable to locate w***ing Street but it does leave me somewhere to find next time!
I went out on Friday night with some friends if Wus as by the time I arrived one day late he was away to Canada. Things were going well until I tried to negotiate a taxi home and ended up arguing with a nutter taxi driver as he sped along the main road at about 70 miles an hour in a 30. Thankfully he dropped me off with out charging me. But by this stage I was about 3 miles in the wrong direction. Mind it's much the same getting a taxi off Montey's in Gala.
The rest if the time was just spent pottering about near the hotel and wandering around Kowloon. I must have been dressed rather scruffily as I was inundated with offers for Asian looking gentlemen offering to make me a suit. They also offered me an option of buying watches. I'm guessing they weren't impressed with my wee Casio wrist watch!
I am now back at the airport ready to board my flight to Sydney and then on to Wellington. I doubt I will get an upgrade this time but I am always hopeful. To be fair I was here 5 hours early for my flight so I should be rewarded for eagerness!

* I'm not 100% sure that Livingstone did discover Victoria falls so I apologies if I have rewritten history in this blog!
