It is raining this morning and I had to jump out of bed and save the computer. I am not too excited about traveling in this rain. It is so dusty on the sides of the roads the trees are covered with dust. It will be nice to see them happy with the rain. It is raining hard today. Thunder and lightening are present. I jumped out of bed to unplug my phone from getting fried. Only 1/2 of the roads are paved and with the play chicken style of driving it is crazy. People definitely work harder not smarter here. I was watching a florist prepare arrangements with the vases on the ground, bent over, kneeling etc. Six foot tables were stacked up just a few feet away. I wanted to say something so bad. The arrangements were gorgeous. They were preparing for a wedding. It is wedding season. The women's empowerment program is amazing. In fact the school is amazing. Four year olds are completely writing the alphabet. This women Ranu is helping women who are not even allowed to ever leave their home before they get married to learn skills. Painting, sewing. etc, These are some of the things she is teaching. The fathers agree for money. She says that when they do get married they will want their kids to go to school and thus the cycle starts to improve. She literally is helping to make changes one village at a time. I met a group of men that sew for a living. She took these guys off the streets and gave them purpose and a life. Everyone calls her Mame Bali and they just love her. And yes, younger people think they should touch my feet for blessings too. I thank God for this beautiful blessing to work with these fabulous women and children.
