Well I just spent a wonderful 24 hours in St. Louis. I went to visit an old friend Shara and her son Wade. Truth be told, Shara was my baby-sitter from about the time I was born until I turned 6 or so years old. So, I have known her for a very long time, like all my life! She has a wonderful home on a large lot which borders a city park. Tuesday evening we went to dinner in a downtown area with dozens of cafes on the street with seating on the sidewalk. It reminded me of some older city centers I have visited like Paris, or Denver. Food was great.
This morning we went site seeing on a limited basis. I had been in the Gateway Arch previously and didn't feel the need to go up inside it again. We also went in the converted Union Station building which was magnificent. We took pictures of the Compton Hill Water Tower and the Jewel Box. The most magnificent structure we visited was the St. Louis Cathedral Basilica which was built in the very early 1900's and completed just before WWI. It is an incredibly magnificent building.

Anyway, it was a great time. I loved the city and the company. I am once again reminded that no matter where I have gone on this trip, there has always been more to do than I could possibly do in the time alloted, regardless of how much time that was. I left this afternoon about 3:00 for more parts unknown.
