This travel journal will go down in history as one of the most successful literature pieces ever written and will one day be compared to other great literature pieces such as The Chuckle Brothers Autobiography, To-Me-To-You.
Lloyd will be going out in Novemeber to embark on his trip to support the cricket boys out there to retain the Ashes. I, Gareth Murphy will be going out to the Land of Oz at the beginning of January to live it up and throw another shrimp on the barbie you flamin' gal-la!
Now, the mission that we chose to accept of the Long Way Round is to not go stalking for Harold Bishop, or to go and become so-called "Beach-Bums". Our mission is to travel from Sydney, New South Wales to Townsville, N.Queensland and then back to Brisbane, S.Queensland.
We have just 6 weeks to complete the journey and we may only use public transport.
We do have some objectives on the way of the Long Way Round:
1) find out what a flamin' gal-la is.
2) to go and wind up some Abbo's.
3) to get a dumpy bottle holder thing.
4) the grass is on the wicket, lets watch some effing cricket!
5) be called "Pommy Baastaads" and then tell the Aussie, "erm no see, cos we're Welsh! Meeeeeergh!"
6) pay our respects to the great man Steve Irwin and touch up one of his koala's
7) swim in the Great Barrier Reef.
8) during all of this, try and avoid being eaten by a Kangaroo or anything else that can actually kill us!
9) try to not fall victim to the dreaded sunburn or prickly heat. Lloyd knows too much about those two things already!
10) and finally.....compare guns with Dan Vickerman (Australian Lock, "jeeez mate, Vickerman! he's bigger than last year!)
So. please give us some feedback on what is going on back home in the lovely UK. Laters.
Lloydy and Gareth x

Sorry pal, but cannot sort the prob. with the card. The contact in HSBC Swansea tried her best but failed. The good news is that if you make enough noise on your return you MAY get a refund for your calls and "something" towards the aggro of phoning the call-centre etc..
Nic
