Arrived in Paraty after a four hour bus journey from Rio and we booked into the Misti Chill hostel and were greeted by the five puppies which had just been born!! Cute for the first five minutes!
When we arrived we realised there was a famous literary festival (FLIP festival) on so the town was buzzing. Paraty is a gorgeous cobblestone little town with lovely restaurants and quaint little shops. Tasted the local dish of crab moqueca in a restaurant called Arporador which was unreal and will be made again at home! We also had a nice Thai meal in a restaurant called Thai brazil, random we know but savage!!
Visited the nearby village of Trinidade where they have the most amazing beach and natural pool which we hiked to for a bit...and got hit in the head by falling fruit from the trees...ouch!! Went for a swim in the natural pool and from there headed to the waterfalls to check out the rock skimming. Check out the video as there is no way to describe this! From there we hit up the local brewery and sampled their different varieties of spirits and saw how everything was made on the mountain.
As you will see had a pretty good night out on Paraty Beach with friends from our hostel and definitely got into the Brazilian way of partying!!
Definitely a place worth visiting even to just stroll around the village and visit one of the many self serve ice cream shops..Pistachio being the best!!
Paraty Done!!
