A day in Paraguay!!
We had a spare day in Foz du Iguazu so we decided to venture into neighbouring country - Paraguay. We also wanted toget another stamp on our passport and see how it was over the river. The area of Paraguay we went to was the most random place i have been in my life. It was extremely hot, however we had soooo many children coming up to us asking if we wuold like to buy socks. they seem to just love thick, sports manufacturers socks and selling them. Despite the weather. It reminded me a lot of Malaysia and if people werent selling socks, they were selilng every type of electronic goods available. It was horribly hot and we noticed a big blue building called the mona lisa. We had seen in advertised in Brazil and wondered what it was...what did the mona lisa have anything to do with anyting in south america? We walked up a hill and then we saw the golden gates of the mona lisa. it was like a luxury version of debenhams and was and absolute heaven to us. The first thing we saw was Lancome....never a bad thing. We walked into the air conditioned entrance and all let out a huge sigh of relief. WE went up to the restaurant where we had a mozerella and roasted vegetable panini (AMAZING). i was so happy i didnt even pick out the tomato! Then an old man started playing a grand steinway piano behind us.....i obvo had a little tinkle! I cannot tell you how amazing this shopping mall was, just for the fact that it was like home and it was exactly what we needed. When we had to leave (as depicted in the photo) we were very upset to go back into the humid, sticky, dusty sock-electrical infested streets. We bundled back into the taxi and went home to the pool at the camp site!
