BOSTON... *sorry i kinda left you all hanging there!
Ok, so most of Boston was spent celebrating St Patricks day on the Sunday on some guys roof top terrace. A guiness in one hand and an array of very green people surrounding me. It turns out that they take their Irish heritage to the highest realm in this city, it was a great weekend for us to be there, clabbering through the crowds to get on the T and see all the craziness on the streets!
Colum introduced me to his friends Erin, Adam, Dave, Jordan, (his mrs, who I cant for the life of me remember her name)! A&D are old Summer camp friends who talk like its going out of fashion and banter like politicians, it was great, loud admitidly but genuinely lovely people. I spent the most time being educated in my own politics and the need for real beer and not Coors lite. Mmmm Smithwicks and Magners!
Monday our final day was being a tourist. C and I took on the Freedom trail, the three mile outline of the city and major tourist spots of Colonial/navy Boston! We went up to USS constitution, walked round its neighbouring ship and took in the sites of the harbour. Taking time to get up to Bunker hill and deciding to climb up the 294 step monument. Put it this way C thought I was going to die about half way up and I needed to breathe at the bottom. The view on the other hand was amazing - nothing quite like it. We went to Flanieul Hall and quincy market as well, to properly take in the sites. As well as walking a furhter 6 miles or so up to Fenway park! Not a lot to see, but when in Boston, do what the RED SOCKS do!
The next morning was spent in this amazing jewish breakfast place eating blue berry pancakes - the train journey started at 11.55...then 24hrs of train...woop.
This is brief because I have a whole two mins left of my free chicago library internet. :P
