Ruby gap East MacDonnell Ranges
I am sure you're all wondering whether we made it. Well yes, it was great but extremely tiring. We're all in bed and it is 7.30. The trip was 33 Km's in on the track and it took us about 2.5 hours. Lots of rocks, sand and high clearance areas. Luuk was amazing and I gave him a 10/10. I really shouldn't of bothered with the doona's, sleeping bags and blankets, not to mention all he first aid and food I took. Unfortunately my over cautiousness meant we had a lot of unpacking to do when we got back to camp. But, all in all, great day!!
We found many small ruby garnets but no really big ones. Sam, being a high achieving noodler/ fossicker was disappointed with the offerings and gave up earlier than I expected. I found some interesting different stones and looking at Maddy and Ash's collections I think we have some good things to take with us to Gemtree to find out what we have found. Got back to camp quite late, made a paper snowflake mobile to finish off some art for Sam's schoolwork, ate, teeth and all asleep. What will tomorrow bring. Well done to the Audi and Luuk again.
