Afternoon from Argentina!
So, since we last blogged we have encountered, raccons, armadillos & a few 20+hr coach journeys, fun fun fun!
Left Ihle Grande on Moday and took an overnight coach to the Brazilian - Argentinian border to visit Iguacu falls. Met up with 2 guys who were at Liverpool Uni & so booked into Hostel Paudimar with them ( great advice Lis!). Tues afternoon did the brazillian side of Iguacu falls which was great, brilliant views of the waterfalls & lots of different animals to see. Soph had a hairy encounter with a racoon trying to eat her ice cream will upload the photo asap!
Wed morning up bright and early for our crossing of the border and into Argentina we went. Escorted by a crazy bus driver on an old school safari bus waving his Bocca Juniors ( argentinian footie team ) Flag at everyone in site. Once in the park we took a walk to some of the minor waterfalls which were amzing and made us want to get in as it was so hot! So - took a speedboat ride around the river iguacu and under the falls, it was fantastic & just what we needed to freshen up! After that it was a train journey in the park to see the big one - Devils Throat & all i can say is WOW! its fantastic - so huge and quite scary looking but with a permanent rainbow across it, it was beatiful! ( photos will follow!). Anyway, after an exhausting day at iguacu we were booked on the night bus to Buenos Aires so as not to waste any time. A pretty neat bus with films, dinner & breakfast served - nice!
The big B.A! - well all excited to hit the town to celebrate my birthday we went in serach of steak & red wine but whilst browsing the little street markets Soph had her purse swiped from her bag! Credit cards, travellers cheques the lot! A frantic trip to the police station followed and then a few phone calls home to cancel cards dulled the mood slightly! Soph dealt with it brilliantly and we headed out a bit later for some lovely food! Didn´t feel lke partying after all that!
Have been to Evitas grave today, the graveyard is immense, like a village of tombs, kinda eeerie! Anyway plan for Pacha tomorrow night which should be wkd - and a football match in the afternoon! Then leaving Buenos Aires on Tues on overnight coach to Mendoza just on border of Chile!
Hope everyone is well, thanks for all you messgaes!
