got up early today and went on a catermaran sailing trip. though was no wind so we just motored around. explored an island, saw one lone and bemused pengun, a sting ray, and some seals sunbathing lazily on rock. were with a german guy who liked emma. were dropped of on a beach and walked back to the hostel in time to leave for barry town at midday. annabel spent the morning lounging about and going for a walk.

stopped at hokitika on way to get supplies, as there was nowhere to but food in barrytown. was dark when we arrived at the pub we were staying in so we cooked tea (watched by one of the two resisdent cats) and generally lounged about.
