We woke up @ the early start of 8.30am after such a long flight the day before to catch our FREE breakfast... this consisted from a choice of: Noodles, Chicken Sausages, Samosas, Boiled Egg, Beans and OR Cereal/Toast. I stuck with Cereal and Joe had Chicken Sausage, cereal, croissant and toast
We decided to head out for the day and do as much as possible, only having two days in Singpore. We booked onto the Hippo/Duck tours - one a city tour and the other a heritage tour. The city tour took us to all the shopping centres, botanical gardens (singapore... not Brocco Bank :)...) where the rich and famous live, the poor (like us) live and then the city sites: Cathedrals, Raffles, Shopping Malls, Bars/Resturants etc. We booked ourselves onto the Night Safari tour, which was absolutely fab, and im pretty sure would be banned in the UK, due to some boring rule like Health and Safety!
The animals on the Safari tour were just roaming around the land whilst our "tram" ride took us through the site. To the left elephants and to the right Lions much to my amazement. I did get a little stressed as this woman , sat next to Moi, kept taking pictures of the animals using the FLASH (which we had been asked NOT to do as we may upset the animals and they may become aggressive)... so thoughts of a lion biting off my leg before i had used them to walk to Ayres Rock, got slightly on my nerves... but hey ho :)
After the tour, a tribe from Africa put on a fabulous show with fire and dancing, which was really good to watch especially as they tried to get the audience involved...
On our second day in Singapore we went on the heritage tour which was great. We headed up to the area of Singpore called Little India, where we went into a shopping mall called the Mustafa Centre. Here you could buy beautifully made Indian clothes and jewellery, spices (which smelt great) or even buy a gold bar!
After a busy day of site seeing and picture taking we headed back to the Metroplitan YMCA to collect our bags... now weighing in at 25Kgs due to packing our UK Winter travelling clothes inside!
