We've arrived after the most uncomfortable journey ever and there was no TV in the back of the chairs!

Driving from the airport to our hotel we saw a bit of Bangkok. It's very much a city of contrasts with shanti towns in front of highrise tourist hotels. It's very smoggy and dirty.

Feeling absolutely shattered we arrived at our hotel. We decided not to sleep instead we decided to hit Khao San Road which is mecca for backpackers! On the way there came Jen and Lisa's near death experience one, a Tuk Tuk ride. We bargained with the driver and off we went. Pulled out of the 1st road and the car in front crashed into a bus our Tuk Tuk slammed on the breaks we both held on for our lives, thinking please don't kill us it's only our first day. I thought my driving was bad the Tuk Tuk driver was a real boy racer we were swerving all over the road in and out of cars. We did eventually get to Khao San Road in one piece!

We are on Khao San Road not really with it because of lack of sleep this Thai man comes up to us and says Tuk Tuk, Taxi, we were like you can see we've just arrived then in a dirty little voice he says ping pong! As if!!!! 5 people during the night came up to us saying the exact same thing. Thank God we found out what ping pong meant b4 we left!!

We decided to grab some food and obted for the Thai cuisine of a pizza, we will get braver with time. Then we did what we do best shopping! Khao San Road is fantastic you can get anything. All you can smell as you walk down it is the food from the street sellers. Everything is So so so cheap our bargaining skills are getting better.

That was yesterday, today we met our guide and have visted the grand palace. It was amazing gold everywhere very bling. We went in to see the emerald budha. Oh and I saw my fist Thailand pigeon no different from the ones in England still as deceiving.

After the grand palace we went on a long boat up the river. Which was nice and cool oh did I mention it's over 30C! Lush. We saw thousands of houses on stilts. Now this afternoon we are back on Khae San Road just had some lunch burger and chips very Thai! Now we are shopping again. Looking forward to tomorrow when we start out trek on the river kwai. Gonna ride an elephant! yay!

We have left the camera lead at the hotel so will have to load them up later ... the you can see Lisa and her new friend - the Frizz-Ball!!!(wish i'd brought the ghds :0( Ha ha!!!
