Day 46 - 23rd Feb - Up early to go and meet up with Nicole (who we met on contiki) in Blackburn, just outside Melbourne, so day out of the city. We met Nicole and spent the day at the Healesville Sanctuary. which is in the Yarra Valley Region. The Sanctuary is a wildlife park it is pretty small and you get to walk around seeing the animals really close up, you even get the opportunity to touch some of them. Got our first opportunity to see some Australian animals like kangaroo's, Koalas, dingo's, Tasmanian devils as well as some of the usual wildlife. We also got to go to the onsite animal hospital, there was an orphan wallaby, and some injured turtles. Before we made our way back to Melbourne, we managed to have enough time to stop off at some winery's, well it would have been rude not to seeing that we were in the wine region. We managed to go to 3 wineries for some tastings in an hour all for free I may add! Very cultured trying all varieties even had a little lesson from one of the winery owners, although we probably weren't the best wine tasters they were all good wine to me!!
