Robyn Ooh, and also (I'm nearly done, I promise), I saw a programme on TV tonight all about Chinese schools! It was a documentary following several kids of different ages around their respective schools and towns. *So* interesting, because one in particular was just like Jiangmen. I kept bouncing up and down saying "we did that!" and "it looked like that in Jiangmen!" and "oh my god, that really happens"! It took me back like you wouldn't believe, and made me miss you loads! Sometimes I can't get to grips with the fact that we spent a year there. It seems like a dream. I'm so glad you're getting to have another life-changing experience right now. Most people don't get the chance to have even one . . . so two is fantastic :)

Robyn I would just like to point out that I didn't star out that word in the post below, it did it automatically. I haven't suddenly developed grace and maturity in your absence. I'm still as coarse as ever . . .

Robyn Stop having fun and update your blog, woman! I want more stories. Need to live vicariously through you!! Loving the lava photos by the way (missed them when they were uploaded for some reason) . . . trust you to see burning hot magma and think "ooh, a novel way for heating edible goodies". I do hope you used oven gloves and a gas mask. Oh no, wait . . . asbestos hands!!! I went to Thorpe Park on Saturday and I did Samurai (brave!) and it bloody hailed!! In April! So I hope you're enjoying the sun whilst the weather plays silly b*****s here in daft old England!!! mum I just saw the videos and the new photos. Those white dresses at the Carnival were amazing, wonder how long it takes them to make them, and it looks quite physical, they must have to do stamina training to keep going. Guatemala is so beautiful, very peaceful and clean looking. Take care

mum Angel Falls is clearly one to put on the list but I am not sure about the small aeroplane, is this the only way to get there. These are the first photos at actual wildlife - albeit just insects but thats promising. Seen any snakes yet per request from Uncle Jim.

Robyn Oh. My. God. I want to be there with you! Well, I did until I saw that picture of the massive green grasshopper / praying mantis type thing. Bleurgh! Not my cup of tea! Your photos and blog are fab, and I loved your description of the Amazon water. I can't believe those photos of the sunset. Stunning! Actually one of my favourite pics is the black and white one of the little girl eating an apple. My favourite one of you is the one where you're all sitting around the table waiting for the dinner to be served and you're staring at the soup bowl with this look of "shut the hell up and pass me my food, damnit!" in your eyes . . . I remember it well . . . lol!! Are all those pictures of you wiht a can in your hand on the same night or has your drinking been strung out?! Love the little kids on the boat, they look great. And sattelite dishes on the banks of the Amazon? Sounds about right - remember Xishuanbanna? We trekked for a day through the jungle, and thought that we were in the middle of nowhere, so far away from civilisation and back to basics in a land where they rebuild their houses by hand every ten years. Then we climbed up into the house only to discover a massive TV, DVD player and stereo system. In a one-roomed bamboo shack on stilts. Love it!! Keep up the good work, my friend!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
