Helloooooo,
though i'd make the most of free internet and time before we catch a bus...
So yesterday the highlight was definately the Lima Noches bus tour! Definately not to be missed (well most bits......). When we were sat on the top deck of the bus we had the oppertunity of a good bit of people watching. A lovely little peruvian girl (must of been only about 2) wanted to play with one of the cats that roam around the city. Now these cats are like the Pippa Middleton's of Lima, everyone knows who they are, they are good looking and well looked after and people like them because they are cute haha.
Anyway, this little girl proceeded to try and pick up this cat, who was very chilled and obviosuly used to being picked up. The girl held it under its armpits so its legs were stuck out at 90 degree angles - it looked so so funny! I caught the Mum's eye and we both had suh a giggle at her little girl trying to hard to pick this cat up. (which she then proceeded to drop cuz she wasn't strong enough to hold it up haha - the cat was fine)
On the bus tour we saw that security is tight everywhere, guards roam doorways, bars decorate windows and huge locked fences protect houses. About 40 mins into the tour we got to my highlight.....The Magic Circuit of The Water. It is essentially a massive fountain park which lights up and has music shows, i LOVED it. There were children screaming with delight playing in the little fountains, old people walking around holding hands and young latin couples having a smooch my the fountains. Wait til you see the pics.
The rest of the tour was great, it was nice to see parts of Lima that you wouldn't walk around. There were nooks and crannies of Peruvian men and women laughing, joking, gambling, shopping, playing and gossiping. We even got to see a very grand Peruvian wedding!
The only part which wasn't so fun was the stop off at the posh hotel. Don't get me wrong, the hotel was awesome and we were given drinks and food but we were sat in a very quiet room with 3 americans talking about their missionary work and how they are saving the children of Peru.....awkwarddddddd.
Anyway, we got back to the dorm and met a load of americans from California who were cool - one of them had visited Portsmouth (not sure he was all that impressed with it though.....) and another had been to Cornwall and commented "isn't that where all the werid people live" lol!
So our plan today - get the bus down to Ica and a Taxi to Hucachina = sand-boarding and dune-buggying here we come!
as always, love you all xxxx
