The day the rain came..
Started the day with sleeping until 9.30. I think that is a new record. For once the van was not like the oven it often is in the morning. Had some breakfast and moved the van from the beach to a free parking spot in the city. Then we were ready to hit the beach. But the weathergods wanted something else..It started raining... so we went on the internet instead.
Since my last blog entry I have done one of the things I wanted to do in life. I have skydived!!!! This past saturday in Byron Bay I went and jumped out of a plane at 14,000ft. I think it was one of the most amazing experiences I've had so far in life. Then when I called my mom on Sunday I forgot to tell her so I had to call her a 2nd time. Haha..the feeling of freefalling and then we hit a cloud and had to do 8 spins to get out of it. The instructor I had Craig said that only happens to him maybe twice a year. I had my own camera guy jumping with me. Chris was his name. So he filmed my jump, and I got a dvd. I will tro to get it out on my blog, but this computer wouldn't even put out my photos so I will hafve to try again. But I must recommend skydiving to everyone!! it is awsome!
Since Byron Bay we've been to Tweed Heads where we had a lovely dinner eating out. At McDonalds=) Haha but it sure beat the noodles we usually eat.. Then we drove to a small place called Miami. We parked by the beach and used the facilities as beach showers and the toilets. A campers life is quite simple. we eat cheep, park by the beach and use the toilets and showers as our bathroom and we have a propan burner in our car that we can take out so we can boil water for our noodle and soup dinners. And we save so much money when we don't have to pay for parking inside caravan parks. but I guess the real challenge is still to come since we've so far only had good weather. Now the weather forecast is rain over the weekend, which means we will get very close to each other inside the van..
Then we drove from Miami to Surfers Paradise. We had one day in a themepark called Dreamworld. It was the hottest day ever. We drank and drank and drank water, but still we felt thirsty. Then yesterday we spent the day shopping in Surfers paradise. we went to a factory outlet store and bought billabong, rip curl and qiucksilver clothes. then we hit the mall at Cavill Ave here in Surfers. I got everything I wanted and maybe even just a little bit more.. hehe only thing missing is a new pair of Uggs. I am still trying to find the cheapest place to buy them.
and I was searching the net just now to see if there were any good concerts in any of the places I am going to around the world, and I found that Fallout Boy are playing in Brisbane february 20th! I would love to see thme so I guess I will. Just need to figure out if there are some tickets left. And I think Lady Gaga plays while we are in LA so I guess we will see her as well.
Another issue at the moment is that Surfers Paradise is the only place in Australia that has a Hard Rock Cafe. We went there the other night and ate a fantastic meal, only to discover that they are all sold out of shot glasses! and to those of you who doesn' t see the issue there.. I collect shot glasses from Hard Rock Cafes I've been to around the world. And mye guess is that I don' t travel to australia very often so this is a problem! But I will find a solution. I am now pronouncing solution as my middle name=)
I hope everyone has taken a peek at all the photos I put out? If you haven' t you should. I will keep trying to upload photos and the skydiving video. write to me on the message board or on facebook!
Love you all=)
