We are a mixed bag , us humans, so you can't always find the right type of person to be with when you need them. Never mind, you can talk to the animals and fish on your next leg, sometimes better than human contact!!
Anyway, you could be sitting in a freezing cold apartment somewhere less exotic wondering where on earth to go/or what to do next .
Enjoy, keep smiling
xx

What happened to Equador, did you change your itinerary or are you no longer going there? You sound as though you need to get away from people and be alone for a while so enjoy the relaxation of the boat etc. Hope the weather is kind to you. xx
Mum
My apologies. I was mixed up with Richard Hawkins who did a lot of exploration in South America and Brazil. Nobody is perfect , we all get things wrong sometimes.
I stand corrected.

Just to avoid any potential confusion (at least with 1 of you!), Machu Picchu was discovered in 1911 by an American historian called Hiram Bingham, as I think I mentioned in my post in the first place!!
Mum
Not to be the clever clogs but I think you will find it was the British explorer Hirham Bingham who discoverd the site not an American!!! Thank goodness. Good old Brits, first to the post again.
Mum
If you are proud of you I am twice as proud. You must have been scared as well as excited . So, well done, congratulations!!! I hope the next leg is as exhilarating as that one. Well written documentary, David Attenburgh eat your heart out!! xxx
Mum
Sounds fantastic! Don't be so hard on the cathredal ' chargers ', that is probably the only way they can fund the upkeep of those beautiful buildings. Otherwise they would end up looking like all the other ruins in the area. Have a great trek, I am very jealous of this leg of your trip. Enjoy and savour the beauty and tranquility. Love you lots, mum xx
Mum
Well that sounds very scary and you weren't encouraged to do any dangerous sports cos you never showed any interest!! Anyway, you were scared of spiders so why on earth would we have suggested anything as dangerous as biking down a mountain???
Hilarious read. Keep up the good work and try to be patient with the 'fools'!!! xx
Mum
This bike ride thing sounds a bit hair raising, make sure you choose one with good brakes. I think you will be safer than if you went on a horse, considering your track record with those animals!!!
Keep on writing, stay safe and stay happy. Love you xxx

McConnell!! How the devil are you? Just to let you know I have just bumped into Jim Richardson - I'm in the UK for longer than my planned holiday due to volcanic ash issues therefore have been on the daily commute to the London office this week. He lost your contact details since moving roles so I'll send them to him via Linked In. Consider yourself reconnected :o)
