Hi... We're still here... in Ushuaia. We did the boat trip around the islands in the bay on Friday (12th January), watching sea lions and cormorants from our seats in the little inflatable boat, doing some serious bobbing up and down!
The colours here are wonderful. The weather is so predominant and continually changing, the wind blowing the clouds every which way, the sun sporadically bursting through and casting white stripes and slivers of silver on the sea. The colours of the buildings and roofs along the shore in Ushuaia become ever so vibrant and the mountains and the waters of the Beagle Channel which they encircle change between blues and greys and blacks... It all makes you at least want to try and describe it!? Very humbling...
The weather and wind are also why we're still here. We were supposed to leave for Puerto Williams yesterday, but instead waited all day for the wind to die down and allow us to sail... which it didn't... and still isn't. Our window for being able to do the trek on the other side is daily getting smaller, so we're really hoping we'll make it over this afternoon. Fingers crossed. In the meantime we are getting serious Peter Kay fixes on YouTube.com!
