Ok Sorry about the delay in posting, so here it is. Alaska!
Alaska was amazing the Cruise Ship was really lovely I filmed around it and took some photos too, it had a fair amount to do to keep people occupied as well. They had onboard bowling a game arcade, a swimming pool, a rock climbing wall and of course various activities to do throughout the day. The evening show's were really good too, they had Second City comedians on who did two shows for us and a 'before they were famous' seminar, they had another comedian called Bud who was also very good. There was a juggler who was very funny and did a really good show and there was also singers, dancers and two people who did acrobatics in the air but my favourite of them all was the Frankie and the Four Seasons tribute band who were really fun to watch.
The ship had so much food as well, it was a freestyle cruise which meant we could eat whenever we liked rather than having a set time like other cruises do. They had a buffet which offered pretty much most things like roasts, pizza, curries, fry ups all the fruit you could eat and a mass amount of puddings. But they also had three free restaurants which were gourmet style and offered things such as lobster and Steak and all the more upper class styled foods. So I was obviously happy being able to eat as much as I liked whenever I liked. The staff were really amazing well and talked with you when they could.
We were tricked into doing a show with them one night getting told it was just something where they speak to the guests and we have to answer silly questions. What we didn't get told before hand was it was their version of 'blind date/the dating game' which was a bit embarrassing but we all ended up getting drinks for participating and a free game of bowling and a meal and we met a few people from doing it. After that I just participated in the quiz's instead.
Alaska was really amazing we went to Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and IcyStrait in Hoonah. Each port was over zealous with jewellery shops but they were all really nice other than that. We went Dog Sledging at one port which was nice to experience they used a summer sledge for it and the ride was only about 5-10 minutes which was a shame as they could easily have made the ride longer. After the ride we went down and had a talk about the dogs they use and the equipment that is used in racing with the dogs, it was really interesting and after that we got to play with some of the puppies that had been born recently which was nice. The whole excursion only took about 2 hours so we had a lot of time in port left so we got some lunch and wondered around the town for a bit.
We also went Whale Watching which was good we got to see two Humpback Whales but we didn't manage to get too close to them but it was interesting, the guide gave us a lot of information on the Whales as well as the port and other animals. We got to see Bold Eagles and also Seals and Sea Lions which was good. Again we had a bit of time after our tour so we wondered around the port a bit. We also visited the KlondikeMuseum and I got to play one of the explorers, but I didn't make any money. When wondering around we met some of the cast of the dancers/singers and the lead male dancer recognised us from his show which was nice and he talked to us a bit.
We went to do the Zip Wire which is the reason I did the cruise but unfortunately a lot went wrong for us that day and so we ran out of time and didn't get to do the Zip Wire which I was upset about but I guess it just means I have to do another cruise later.
We also went on a tour to a Glacier it was really interesting and we had a good guide who gave us a lot of information about the local wildlife and plants and then explained about the Glaciers, the Glacier itself was really nice to see and we also got to watch an Iceberg crack and turn over which was good. At our last port in Alaska we did a full 4 hour tour where we got taken to see Totem Poles as well as seeing an Eagle Sanctuary and a Fishery where they bred Salmon. The totem pole tour was very interesting, the guide explained about how they got made and what the different symbols mean and the types of different totems there are.
After Alaska we were dropped off in Victoria for only a few hours so we only got to spend about 2 hours at port and it was also in the evening so not too much was open but it was still nice to see it. It looked very interesting and had a lot of little gift shops around so I may go back to it at the end of the tour if I have time and stay a few days to explore it properly.
Thats all from the crusie xxx
