I survived my first few days in LA on my own :)
Day One: I got the opportunity to visit UCLA Campus. It was so beautiful! The buildings were so old. I got to go along to the Campus Crusade weekly meeting at the school there. It's quite different to our weekly meeting in NZ. They are a lot more like a regular church service where as in NZ its more directed at getting non-christian people to come along too. It was neat to meet some local people there and just see how they do ministry. There were 200-300 people there.
Day Two: I decided to brave the city of LA on my own and bought a Hop-on-Hop-off bus tour. It was a guided tour on a bus around the city to hear about all the places the stars live, eat, shop and hang out. It was so interesting and I got to see some famous places around the city. I checked out Hollywood Blvd, took a few photos of the Walk of Fame. The bus also took me out to Santa Monica Beach it was really beautiful, unfortunately the sun set at like 4:30pm so it was almost dark by the time we got there.
Day Three: My friends flew in to LA and I went to meet them so we stayed together. We mastered the public transport system of LA using the buses and the trains but we soon noticed that not many tourists used it, we were quite the odd people out. We went back to Hollywood and had a good look around. I was surprised at the whole city though at how run down and dirty the whole city was. It's just so massive and hard to up-keep everything.
Day Four: We hit Universal Studios!!! It was sooooo much fun. It was lovely weather and the rides were fun and it was so interesting to see how the make some movies and just going behind the scenes. I would so recommend going there. My favourite one was the Simpson Ride! It was a computer generated rollercoster and just so realistic.
Day Five: Up early again and off to LAX to fly to Boise, Idaho. I was so excited that we went via Oakland and I got to see Sanfransico. I saw the Golden Gate Bridge. Arrived in Boise and it was snowy on the mountains. It was pretty cold after being in LA. We met some more friends and some new people to get ready for the Hen's Party of a friend of mine Jessica. We got a tour of Boise and went out for dinner and had a fun night with the girls.
Day Six: Today we got to sleep in. YAY!!! :) Then this afternoon we drove two hours to Twin Falls where the wedding will be tomorrow. It was really snowy on the road and got colder and colder. The people we're staying with are so hospitable. Am really enjoying it here so far. We went and visited the local Shoshone Falls which are beautiful and flow through the massive canyon here. Very exciting. Tonight we're going to watch the new Twilight movie. And tomorrow is the wedding. Exciting! So all is going well.
