Well here we are at LAX. Our skin & lungs are full of LA smog & grime from having the convertible but I has been fun.
Today's photo is from the online photos. We can't put up one of ours as Robyn doesn't want to unpack her bag to find the connection. I don't blame her.
We went to to cheap bag man on Hollywood this morning where I got a $10 bag as my second piece of luggage. I packed all the kids shoes & Lego into the bottom of it. But, it turns out 6 boxes of small shoes are lighter than t-shirts. My pink suitcase came up at 26.4kgs & the new bag at 14.4kgs. Each piece had to be 23 or under. The new bag is full so I pulled some t-shirts out & put them in the bag I am carrying that has the donkey & armadillo in. No doubt I will be stopped at security again. I got stopped at San Antonio airport as they thought the donkey's ears were knives. I seem to have something every year that they want to check.
Today we have had another shopping day. We went to Sherman Oaks this morning to Mel's Diner. This is where we had dinner last night (the Hollywood one) & Rob had wanted one of their t-shirts. They didn't have the design she wanted so we went to the Sherman Oaks one this morning & got it there.
After that we went to the Beverly Centre. It took a while to get there as one of the freeways is closed this weekend & there was stacks of traffic around Hollywood.
But it was a successful trip. I got the Calvin Klein suit I wanted.
We had lunch at the Corner Bakery - a chain that do sandwiches & salads & whoopie pies!!!
After lunch it was a quick stop at Marshalls - a store that sells designer brands & other stuff for next to nothing.
Then it was time to go back to the hotel & pack our bags. It took both us of pushing down on Robyn's to get it closed.
After quick showers we were ready to go. We had to have the car back by 6pm. It was already 5pm & as the room door shut behind me we realized neither of us had picked up the car keys. There was a maid in the corridor but she wouldn't let us in as she couldn't be sure it was our room. We had to wait for someone from reception to come down. It was 5.15pm before we got going but the airport isn't far & even with every possible red light we got there at 5.50pm.
We are just having dinner now before we go through security. We have to get a shuttle bus out to the plane as the A380 is too big to come in.
It has been a good but tiring trip. We have seen lots but it will be nice to get home.
