10th - 18th May
Day 1: We arrived in Paris after our trip on the ferry. Dad had to drive on the other side of the road. After a few hours driving we got into Paris we found our parking building through good luck not good judgement we parked the car and took the metro into town to our apartment.
Day 2: After a rest in the Morning we walked down the road to the river seine were we wandered up the side of the river we saw Notre Dame the Louvre and finally we found a Tourist information place to see what there is to see. It is hard to understand people because they all speak French and I don‘t.
Day 3: This Morning we went to Notre Dame it was really impressive and massive. We carried on down the road where we saw lots more churches but we didn’t go in them. Finally we got to a massive modern art museum it was really weird because the building was inside out it was closed.
Day 4: This morning I bought a Baguette a t the local Boulangerie using my French skills. Then we headed to Sacre Coeur It was much more impressive than Notre Dame. While we had lunch we listened to a guy singing then we started walking through the narrow streets we came to a square where lots of artists wanted to do portraits of you . We kept walking then we came to the place du Concorde it was a huge round about with a three thousand year old Obelisk in it.
Day 5: Today it was raining so we didn’t do much but in the afternoon we went to the Catacombs. They were quite spooky because we were 20 m under ground with the bones of six million people all arranged neatly in piles. They had been moved there hundreds of years ago from over crowded grave yards that were giving diseases to people. It was 1.7 km of it.
Day 6: This morning it was raining but any way we wandered off to a place called Montparnasse there was lots of modern buildings we went to a world war 2 museum it was really interesting. We finished doing that and then went off to the Louvre (a huge art museum ) we went in through a big glass pyramid that looked a bit out of place amongst all the old buildings. Inside we saw thousands of sculptures and paintings, some big some small some really famous and some just boring. The famous ones were the Mona Lisa and a funny lady with no arms (she turned out to be the Venus De Milo ) . Also we saw the Napoleons apartment it had a whole lot of treasures in it.
Day 7: Today we took the metro to the Bois De Bologne and then to the Jardin d’Accllimation a big kids park with all sorts of play grounds and fun things we spent about an hour there and then walked to the Arc de Triomphe which was massive sadly it was raining again. We wandered down the Champs Elysee I saw lots of car show rooms they were awesome and the Citroen one had nice massaging chairs.
Day 8: This morning we went to the Art and crafts market it was quite big and there was heaps of artists selling their work. At another market there was lots of people selling old things I bought a ski jacket for 8 euros. After we had tea it was fine so we decided to go to the Eiffel tower when we arrived it was still bright so we got some good photos there was heaps of people selling mini Eiffel towers Mum decided not to come up but the rest of us went up. There was huge queues. There was a fake man sitting on the outside of the lift it was quite funny we got to the second floor and had to queue again. When we got to the top it was really crowded but there were amazing views of the city and the sunset, it was really high. Then we walked down it from the second floor (500 steps). Once we got down we watched the lights show on the tower it was impressive. After that we walked to the Arc de Triomphe with its lights on and an Aston Martin Show Room it was awesome!!!!!!!!!
