Suzanne's Travels
21st May/22nd May 2012 Travelling home
I was surrounded by Brasilians on the plane and at first I thought they were going to be noisy but they soon settled down. Started by reading the flight magazines before the tvs came on. It was amazing to think I was now leaving S America and I said goodbye to it as we left. The person next to me felt a little like he was encroaching on my space. It was difficult to get to my remote control as he was using it as an arm rest. I watched the Sherlock holmes 2nd film on the TV. I also watched an episode of the Big Bang theory. We got dinner at 12:40 which was chicken. I thought all I feel like I've done the last few hours is eat, eat, eat. I then tried to have a bit of a sleep but then began to feel uncomfortable. I then watched an episode of Mike and Molly and an episode of Sherlock Holmes from the TV series. I kept not hearing the stewards and air hostesses while watching the TV so I hope they didn't think I was rude. The person from behind stuck one of the feet down the side of my window at one point. The bus the other day was a lot more comfortable. We had breakfast at a strange time and not much longer we seemed to be landing. I finished off reading the flight magazines before we landed. They said on my side of the plane I should be able to see Wimbledon but I am not sure whether I saw it or not. I saw quite a lot of tennis courts from the air but I also saw some smaller tennis clubs. On the other side of the plane it was announced when they went over the Olympic park.
It was a quick flight from London Heathrow to Manchester and before I knew it we were landing. I waited for most people to leave the plane and as I was standing up waiting to leave my seat a man came by swinging his child by the arms ahead of him. I was looking at the boy who was quite sweet, I smiled at the child and then looked up at the dad to smile at him. I think I did smile at him but I also did a double take as he looked like the double of Wayne Rooney. I quickly got through baggage reclaim and went to have an emotional reunion with parents. It was lovely to see them again. Dad had very kindly got me a dairy milk. It was good to taste English Dairy milk again. Peru Dairy Milk was ok but some of the other countries were not good. They asked me whether anyone famous was on my flight as there was a photographer hanging around. I said about there was a double of Wayne Rooney on the flight. My mum worked out that it would be him as he had just gone to Las Vegas for a holiday. So we waited for him to come out. Colleen came out first with the pushchair and then he came out. They were loaded into a private car with tonnes of suitcases.
We went through the Radisson blue hotel at Manchester airport and dad couldn't believe the weight of my luggage. We travelled back along the M56 and I remembered when I use to drive along it. When I got back to the house I looked around the whole house looking at what had changed, went out to see Lasers grave and had a cup of tea. Thats where I will end this journal now sitting in a sunny garden having a cup of tea. A traditional English thing- a cup of tea.
