Quick one from Buenos Aires.
Em and I are a week into our eight months off and we had to have a giggle today when we confessed to each other that we were both pissing each other off. She called me grumpy, I ubruptly retorted that she is a nagging wife - "like a tap. Drip, drip, dripping..."
But on a better note, we are both absolutaley rapt with the apartment we managed to score in Recoleta (a leafy suburb of Buenos Aires) for a week or so at scarcely more than the average backpackers lodging cost. Its an old french style building with a small cast iron balcony that looks over a quiet but intriguing street below, we are on the third floor. The apartment is located near the famed Recoleta cemetry, that houses the gravesite of the famous "Evita".
We sat for dinner with the big french doors open at the mouth of the balcony tonight. We ate, drank and watch as life ticked along below us. We both agreed it was a splendid day in the life of Emily and Alex.
Em, has kept me entertained in BA (what the locals call Buenos Aires) with her quarrels with doors. A number of times (on a couple of occasions with doors we use repetetively) Em has struggled to twist, force and nuance doors later to realise that she was either pushing when pulling was the appropriate action (or vice versa).
We both absolutaley love the little nuances of BA. But more on this later.
