Who actually cares about backing up computers, buying adapter plugs for camera chargers and international sim cards? And by 'cares' i of course mean 'understands the processes involved in obtaining'. This is doing my head in and i havent even left yet. I mean you cant do this stuff too early but with 8 days to go and jammed schedules until that most hectic of days, im getting the feeling its going to be a relief to go just to run away from all this planning.

Actually no thats not right, it will be a relief to be there, but getting there i am not looking forward to. well yes i am i guess but for someone who as spent a grand total of about 4 hours on a plane (spread nicely over 18 years) a flight itinerary like mine is just unfathomable.

sydney - london (TWENTY FOUR HOURS!!!! with a stopover in bangkok)

munich - naples

thats rights, lufthasa (spelling??) does not have a direct flight from milan to naples. a 1 hour flight has turned into a trip to germany. hurrah. (actually im sort of pleased about that.)

right well i have to go stare at my backpack now. dont worry i wont actually do anything productive. that would be too logical. im sure leaving everything till the last minute then leaving the house at 3.30am so i can catch my 6.30am flight out of tassie is a perfectly acceptable game plan, much practiced by likes of catriona rowntree, frommers and other well travelled fools etc.
