After Ko Tao we spent 4 days staying in such a nice hotel in Ko Sumui (was absolute heaven to have air con again after having a fan room). Ko Sumui was awesome, we had expected it to be really chilled out so that we could relax before heading to Koh Phangan for the full moon peroid, but no such luck. there was still ALOT to do in Ko Sumui, and at night time everyone went to this massive outdoor club called the Green Mango which was alot of fun. We managed to sneak in a chilled out night before heading down to Koh Phangan for probably 5 of the most mental days we've had so far. We met up with a group of literally 50 people there, mostly welli people and spent most of our days and nights with them. was nice to see some familiar faces again. The evenings would consist of plenty of buckets and crazy dancing on the beaches until the sun came up, which resulted in us sleeping most of the days before getting in a couple of hours tanning and then going out again... Wasn't too healthy, but so much fun. Full moon night was just crazy. Thousands (and I'm talking Thousands!) of people all on one beach, all absolutely covered in UV paint, all going crazy and staying out dancing until literally 10am the next morning. Was insane, but such a memorable night (well... the parts we can remember. haha) At the end of Ko Phangan it felt like our bodies were literally on the verge of packing on from all the abuse so we headed to Krabi where we were staying in a really nice little hotel on the main street. We spent the next few nights here detoxing and recovering before Phi Phi and even ended up extending a night because we loved being able to chill out for once!
We are now in Phi Phi which is a beautiful little island, with agin pretty crazy nightlife on the beach. Today we went on a tour to Maya Bay where the film 'The BEach' was filmed and I have to say it was defiantely a highlight of the whole trip. We set out in a little wooden longboat, into waves that reached upto 4-5M high!! was literally crazy, at points we were genuinely scared for our lives! Then we got to stop off and snorkal in an amazing cove that looked like something out of a movie set (well I guess it is...) before pulling over by a rock face which we had toswim up to and use ropes to climb up (again scared for our lives at this point... guess thats what you get for paying 4 quid for a day trip!!) in the end it was worth it though when we reached Maya Bay. It was literally perfection. The whitest, softest sand accompanied with the clearest, bluest water I have seen so far on my travels all enclosed in a cove by huge cliff faces. It was amazing! Loved it so much, and I guess the danger makes it more of a memory to look back on!! haha
Anyway, I now have 5 days until I head home which I literally cannot believe, seems so weird to be coming back after all this time but am very excited to get home and see you all at this point! Our last stop after here is Phuket where ur travel agent hooked us up with this incredible hotel for two nights so will be such a perfect way to end the trip, before flying back up to Bangkok and flying home the next day!! Exciting stuff...
Hope you've all enjoyed being able to keep up to date on what I've been been doing on here (specially you Nan) and it hasn't been too embarassing of cringe-worthy to read! It's just nice to know that some of you still care about our existance ; )
Literally so excited to come back now, will see you all very very soon! X
