Nervous Turkey!
Well today made our trip to Sri Lanka even better than we imagined it to be. When here nearly 5 years ago, it was to celebrate Simon and Vic's wedding day which was held at the epic Villa Victoria. Today we went to snoop on Villa V and to take some photos to send back to Sig and Vic. Well we did more than snoop....
Our plan was to get onto the beach at the rear of the villa and to climb the steps and take a peek. This was what we did but not knowing if Villa V had guests we sneakily peered over the wall and extended our GoPro. The villa was empty....apart from 3 familiar looking guys. We were spotted and when we mentioned our visit with Sig and Vic their faces lit up and they invited us in. Soon we were settled on the same couch and drinking tea with Anil, Pattam and Samanta. These were the same guys that looked after everyone in 2011 and they hadn't changed a bit. They are still so kind, welcoming and friendly. Chatting we told them about Sig & Vic, introduced Marley and told them Andy was still as stupid. We loved hearing about their lives and they gave us advice about our next destinations and how to get there. We were sad to say goodbye and hopefully can visit again in the future. This may sound a little over the top but it made our Sri Lanka trip, these guys are awesome.
The 3km walk down memory lane confirmed just how beautiful and untouched Southern Sri Lanka still is. This will always be one of our favourite places in the world.
