It was an early 7am start and we were shattered after a uncomfy night in the tent. The first task relocating Baz's hat. The second task was to make sure 'THEY' didn't eat too much for breakfast! But THEY did!
We drove to the champagne pools where we stopped for a dip, or a paddle in Char and Amber's case but to be fair it was soooo cold! Champagne pools are naturally made by the sea flowing over the rocks, creating little pools perfect for swimming to escape the fierce marine life. The rocks around them were razor sharp and it wasn't long before blood was streaming from Tom's feet.
The next stops were -
- Indian head - a look out point where as it says in the name the Indian's of Fraser lived.
- Visiting a humpback whale skeleton
- Visiting Maheno shipwreck, which washed up in 1930, a miniature Titanic, 130m long!
- visiting and walking up Eli Creek - A fresh water creek with eels which are easily mistaken for snakes!!
- Char had her first 4x4 sand drive and was even complimented by Matt on her skills!
- A crazy German drove home, he really did think he was a professional!
With the girls on salad duty and Matt and Tom on BBQ steak duty, they made a plan to ensure that WE got the best steaks! With a quick nod from Tom, England 1 - Germany 0!
The night was finished off with chatting around the fire with Amber, Tom, Mark, Joe, Kate and Rachel. On a trip back to the tent to get the iPod dock, Matt found a slight issue! His words on arrival back were "Char...we have a problem!!"
"There's a rat in our tent!!!!" As the rest of the group jumped up to take a look at the rodent, Char stayed put not wanting to believe the truth! But the truth was made clear when everyone came back laughing and telling her how cute it was! CUTE!!
Later that night, Billy our new friend with the worlds most awkward sense of humour was found throwing wet tissue at a huge huntsman in the gents and we resorted to sleeping in the 4x4 in search of a better nights sleep.
