Nervous Turkey!
The journey from Christchurch - Kaikoura was the last bus journey with Hes and Emma so the sleeping selfie game was in full swing. First stop of the day was to visit a seal colony. It was awesome to see the pups and parents in their natural environment just playfully entertaining us. Then we decided to walk along the coastline back to the hostel. This would take around 2 hours but the weather was so sunny that after the last week of being cold it was a must. We stumbled across a seafood shack that proclaimed to serve the freshest seafood in NZ. The prices reflected this. A crayfish was $150. We opted for the grilled fish and rice - $7. It was delicious and had only being caught that morning. The whole walk back was interesting as we kept getting surprised by seals along the boardwalk, some happy to see us and some not so happy. We eventually made it into town and got offered a free BBQ sausage sandwich from what looked like a town celebration. Within moments after taking the first bite the group of us were sucked into a Christian gathering where we would be preached at for the next 10 minutes. Boldly we made our escape into the bottle shop behind us. The sunshine had called for beers,v69, jenga and music on the outside decking at the Lazy Shag. Yes you read it correctly, this was the name of our hostel for the night. At around 4pm it was time for another big goodbye. Hes and Emma our two travel buddies from the last two weeks were going back to England. These two clowns have also made the list and we must stay in touch. Life becomes a lot brighter hanging with these two.
And then there were seven. Matt, Char, Gilly, Scott, Will, Sabrina and Tess.
