Hi again!
We have been travelling about LOADS here! We caught a flight last Monday from KL to Langkawi which is an island right on the Thai border.I really wanted to hop across to Thailand but Becca didn't want to so we stayed put in Malaysia. Langkawi was nice but we didn't realise how much the monsoon affected the islands. Constant rainy downpours (obviously) and the seawas really murky and churned up so there was no chance of snorkelling. We stayed in a nice place called Zacharys and met loads of nice people in the bar/common area there. We spent a lot of time lazing on the beach and eating in the extremely quiet restaurants!
On one day we hired a cab (since there is no public transport on Langkawi!) to take us to the cable car. There was a huge expanse of hilly jungle and then this precarious cable car hanging over it which shot you up to the top quite fast! The views were amazing and there was a bridge between two ills which we walked across and then got so freaked out we had to practically crawl back to the other side! Then we went on to the Seven Wells which is a waterfall that you can slide down! As you all know I HATE physical exertion and the hill we had to walk up was a joke, what is wrong with escalators? I was wet with sweat by the top, it was not a pretty sight! But sliding down the waterfall was so much fun and cooled us off temporarily.
We also went on an island hopping trip asLangkawi is part of an sarchipeligo of 99 islands. We went to the island of the preganant maiden which is an island with hills in the shape of apreganant lady lying down and a freshwater lake. We swam in the lake which apprently means you will never have trouble getting pregnant! And we put our feet in the catfish pond but they freaked meout nibbling on my toes. The monkeys there were mental because its low season so they weren't getting fed asmuch as usual and were grabbing peoples bags! We saw eagles feeding in the sea and went to a 'deserted' (apart from all the tours) island and it started to rain!! We spent the last evening eating fish and chips on the beach and watching for the meteor shower that was meant to happen but we didn't see any!
