4.30am start today. Ergh. So tired especially after last night. We drove the 45 mins to the ferry and caught it for an hour and a half back to the mainland which I slept for both trips. We got on the bus for about 2 hrs before stopping in a little town for lunch. Had a kebab which was good- tsziki sauce was very strong again though. They also put hot chips on them which was interesting. We then walked to the shops and pharmacy as we had gotten 'the sickness' a couple of days ago. Everyone on the bus seems to have a cough or runny nose or in my case both. We got back on the bus then for another 2 an a half hour drive. We played another battle of the sexes game and girls and boys both made up questions for the other team. Boys won by 1 but we think some of their answers were wrong or made up. all their questions were about sport too so that was poo because I had no idea whatsoever on any of them. It was good to waste time though for a little bit. We also drove over a bridge that is the largest wire bridge or something. It cost 60 euros to pass the toll on it which was crazy but it was apparently super expensive to make and cut 350kms or so off your journey. We got to our service stop and had goodys for lunch which is Greek fast food- they have more of these than Maccas. Then had another hour drive till Athens. We got in and put our bags in the room and left for a tour straight away. The Greek guide was funny and pointed out the crazy 'idiot' Greek drivers as well as mentioning the pickpockets that are apparently everywhere. We got dropped off at the bottom of acropolis (which means highest point) and had a look but couldn't go in as it was closed for the day. Really want to see the Parthenon though even though there is scaffolding all over it so will try go tomorrow before we fly to Egypt. We went to the museum too and looked at all the ruins that were found and things from thousands of years ago. Still hard to imagine that they had some of the things back then. we left here to go to syntagma square which is a central meeting point and had a walk about dinner. Billie and i felt like steak so ordered a fillet steak. Realized when it came out though that it wasn't a fillet of beef it was something else. Mahrck tasted it and said he thought it was maybe pork. Kristen and ally ate with us too. We then went to catch the bus and brought some cheap 10 euro shoes on the way for Egypt. We got back to the room about quarter past 10 and had an early night as we were still b*****ed from an early start an the sickness. Bit sad having to split the group up an will probably miss some of those going to the greek islands but should still be good. Just hope little groups don't form while we are apart.
