We left the Swiss Alps by 8am to head on to Rhine Valley. We stopped in Heidelberg on the way where we saw it's medieval castle and went for a walk down their street to shop for an hour or so. We also went into the church of the holy spirit there. It had very different stained glass windows but was similar to other churches we had seen along the way. We also drove past the Lorelei Rock on the way which was famous for having alot of boat crashes there. It was a story that Lorelei was a mermaid that called the sailors to her and so they crashed. We moved on from their to keep travelling through Germany towards St Goar. We stopped here and went to see how beer steins were crafted. We had some time then to buy some before heading to a hotel for dinner. We went from there to a wine tasting in a cellar underground. It was quite cold down there but they had really nice wines. We had a taste of an 'ice wine' which is usually quite expensive and rare because it is when the grapes are icey and that doesn't happen too often. Billie had the good idea of buying one to appreciate in value over time. I didn't hear when they said it would do that though so quite annoyed I didn't get one too. We left St Goar to head over to Rhine Valley where we had some drinks and went on the internet before I had a quiet night.
