Welcome to California, we arrived safely in Los Angeles with pretty much no trouble getting into the country and not searching of bags or anything.

All feeling a bit weary and headed up to the qantas club lounge for a 3 hour break before departing for Sacramento. On our Ausveg trip we have 3 guys from Western Australia, 4 guys from Queensland and @ girls one being myself also from Queensland.

After getting through customs and rechecking our luggage we headed up to qantas lounge, the queensland boys wanted to check out la so headed out as 2 of them are new to travelling. Cab driver says will take nearly an hour to head into LA in good traffic so the boys decide to can that idea and stay at the airport so no Hollywood Boulevard for them.

The rest of us headed to Qantas lounge, some had cards so could take a friend however the rest stayed at the entrance and managed somehow to sneak in with some welcoming american qantas members who took them in as their friends. The lounges here are very different as you have to pay for most of your food and drinks only limited free. The boys decided that star spotting was on the agenda and we ended up spotting Geena Davis(remember from Thelma and Louise and the mom in stuart litte) that was a bit exciting but desley missed out on the autograph and photo after she finally plucked up the courage she had already gone to catch her flight. Maybe on the way home

We then caught our flight to Sacramento in a tiny little plane I am sure it was smaller that the Moree - Sydney no good for tall people, very claustrophobic!!!

Arrived in sacramento after lunch and had the afternoon to explore, what an interesting city We stayed at the hyatt which was on capitol avenue , this is a really quiet place and seems like noone was around, we thought it was a public holiday. Lots of poor here the economy is quite bad in california at the moment. Visited old sacramento which was beautiful .

Had a great dinner in the hotel, you will see the pic of our carrot cake.
