One of the items on our tick list is sorting out our stuff to be shipped back to London. Tedious but necessary. Boxes storing our memories were put away in the store room in my mother in law's house. It's time for it to be sorted out and brought it to it's rightful owners. This is where we spent afternoon after afternoon tidying away the cartons containing our memories.

Heartland Bedok is where my mom used to do most of her shopping. I've got the afternoon to wander around the local shops, ate in the Bedok Central hawker centre. Some of the shops changed hands, sold it off to enterprising businessmen who offered high prices for these high traffic area. Familar smell of local delight filled the place. Fried Kway Teow, carrot cake and tou hwa got me drooling and feeling really excited.

Singapore at 30 degrees is a real temperature change from London. Took Xi and Yi to the Chinese Swimming Club for a dip to enjoy the outdoor pool. Refreshing, cool and best of all - naturally outdoor. This section of the club is newly built with a slide and mushroom with splashing water. Great for kids. Even Xi enjoyed it at the age of 13! We met our friends at the club which was really handy. Children had fun and adults get to chat.

We were warmly welcomed by Megan and Laura (my lovely nieces). They couldn't wait to see Claire and Wayne. It was also the first time I got to see Liam, the latest addition to our families. We first headed to see my mother in law who was resting in a nursing home, recovering from her operation. Dinner, we headed to Golden Mile Tower for a belated reunion dinner - a spread of steamboat dinner.

Our first experience taking Air China. The price difference of $300 per person finalises our decision to take Air China. It didn't have the frills of a individual tv but it brought us safely to Singapore! Ours was a midnight flight and we psyched ourselves to sleep on the plane in order to max our time in sunny Singapore.
