Your paragraph about the Chinese educational system says it succinctly, Leighton. You're absolutely spot on. The only thing your director has in her sights is saving her business. This will continue to be a problem for her until she gets a backbone. Probably won't happen, I'm afraid. If it's any consolation at all, we've found ourselves in similar situations in China and elsewhere.

Nou, nou, het gaat er maar raar aan toe bij jullie als ik de blog zo lees. We lezen de blogs altijd met veel belangstelling!
Cancelled Christmas !!! I can't believe it, a revolution is in order !!!
Well at least she should let you out early to go to a pub (or whatever the Chinese do)
Have Fun,

OMG, Leighton! Just looked at the pictures. We have the same hair demonstration going on down here. I would label it a "street demonstration."

So glad you're back, Leighton. Enjoyed the reading. Did a tour of a hutong neighborhood while in Beijing. Fascinating. Thanks for posting again.

Hi Leighton!
How are things? From all your photos, seems like everything is going very well. Nice apartment, by the way. ;)
Gianluca says hello. (He's so much fun! Class is always a riot. Thanks for the intro.)
Take care! ^^

Congratulations Silvie and Leighton! The place sounds positively swanky. Wow, what a contrast. The only thing missing must be the swimming pool. Glad you're ensconced in a more appropriate place. Hope Silvie is feeling better. I'm actually sitting in the airport in Houston on our way to Oaxaca. We have a five hour layover. You're latest blog was a welcome distraction.
