Hello all!! We are now in Chile and have finally spent a day on the beach and as a result we are sun burnt! Typical! Since leaving the jungle we have spent two nights in Arequipa in Peru where we met up with the tour we were on which great as they had a free day too so we could do lots of drinking! Then, on Tuesday we got on a bus down to Tacna in preparation for crossing the boarder. As soon as we got off the bus loads of men started saying `Chile? You go to Chile?´ This was a little intimidating as you are never sure if they are genuine or they are going to leave you in no mans land between the two boarders! We finally gave into one guy and fortunately 3 Dutch blokes joined us that could speak Spanish! The crossing itself was fine in the end. We had to get out and walk across both boarders with our bags and get searched but it was fairly plain sailing. However, our luck ran out when we got to our youth hostel!! There was Leigh and me wanting a quiet night, perhaps watching TV for once and chilling out a bit, but oh no, the owner of the hostel had better ideas!! The first warning sign should have come when the flyer he was showing us said ´Arica Party House´ he then opened the beers and didn’t stop talking for about 4 hours and every other word was f***!!!After this two girls turned up that had done it all before and soon a bbq started and more drinks kept flowing! By this time it was 12pm! Leigh and I finally escaped at 1am but the parties keep going until 5.30am most nights!!! Ever since we have tried to keep a low profile and thank God for ear plugs!!!!! We have wandered round Arica and spent some time on the beach and tonight we have another overnight bus journey to San Pedro de Atacama where we are hoping to do some tours out to the salt plains. We will let you know!!!! Hope all is ok back hope and thank you for the photos of Indianna! She is beautiful!! Love you all, Gemma & Leigh x x x x x
