Hello again! We've just had a really nice Sunday, managing to pack in quite a lot of sightseeing and other general festivities into not much time at all. It looks as if we're going to be able to find plenty to do within the seven days judging by the the amount of museums, art galleries, souvenir shops and other tourist attractions that can be found even within a short walking distance of our hotel. If we manage to explore further then we really shouldn't have any problem in keeping ourselves occupied.
We kicked off the day as planned, heading downstairs to the Berlin Restaurant for our buffet continental breakfast thats provided as part of the full cost of our room. Although not the greatest food ever, theres plenty of choice and we're not going to go hungry (at least if we manage to get up in time in the duration of the week). There was fresh bread to toast yourself, danish-style pastries, butters and jams, coffee, various flavours of tea and herbal tea, orange juice, apple juice, cherry juice, still water, fruity cereal, scrambled egg, continental meats, coleslaws, salad, sausages, ketchups, pickled or smoked baltic fish, and a few other things and basically it was as much as you can eat of everything. Anyway, I made sure I got a good fill to give me plenty of energy for the day ahead :D
We then went and bought a Tallinn card each as planned, and it cost about £20 for 3 days. Well worth it, especially as it would enable us to get out of the centre easily and not have to worry about not being able to get back or not as we would be travelling on set tour bus routes. Obviously, getting into most of the citys attractions for free is also a bonus! :D Seen as we were at the reception desk already, we went ahead and ordered our mini bar from room service. This is what we got for a deposit of 500 kroons (£22), which we'll get back if we don't drink everything:
Red Bull x 2, Campari x 2, Jagermeister x 2, Remy Martin Cognac x 1, Bacardi x 1, Viru Valge Vodka x 2, Famous Grouse Scotch Whisky x 1, Le Cardinal Bordeux White Wine x 1, Le Cardinal Bordeux Red Wine x 2, a Le Coq Beer x 2, Coca Cola x 2, Mixed Fruit Juices x 2, Evian Still Water x 2, Vichy Sparkling Water x 2, Peanuts x 2, Chocolate / Caramel Wafers x 2!!! \o/
Handy to have in the room for emergenices if nothing else, especially considering we haven't found a shop or a supermarket yet! :D Yep, strangely enough we haven't seen any shops (other than art and souvenir shops pretty much), we have seen more cafes, pubs and restaurants here than I think any city I have been to in the world, it really is a haven for food lovers! Basically, I'm in my element here xD
