Morning all,
for a change today it's darren doing the entry, finally i'm let loose with this thng, mwawawa
Anyhoo, so much to tell. From our last entry we've been to a lovely town called pak chong where the journey there included two thai 'sisters' tho one had an adam's apple telling us the best things to do in the area and trying to get us to go to their folks shop.
When in pak chong we briefly made our way to khao yai national park, immediately with the taxi in saw pig tailed macaques, sambar deer and the usual birds etc etc. After hiking about 6km with rucksacks we stumbled up Paulo and co, a group of animal researchers and rangers who work in the park who fed us, gave us a bed for the night , taught us all the names for the wildlife plus some thai lingo.
Once at the camp site we trekked a further 4.5 km to a really cool water fall where we swam in the pool, until we learnt there were leaches!! One was on lee's foot, one on my hand tho mine was only a baby. Lee was getting out of the pool and jumped when he thought a snake was attacking him, only to discover it was a stick. (sorry for any alarm lee's mum)
Trekking out of the park was good, should have been a 17km trek, we got 6.5 k before some locals felt pity for us and gave us a lift back to pak chong where we NEEDED a shower. Yesterday we ventured back to Bangkok and the amazing khao san. It's thai new years day today which includes - from yesterday to sunday - copious amounts of water being thrown everywhere and having a festivally jolly good time, so we're sat in the internet cafe before 9 o'clock in the morning trying to miss getting soaked - again!!
In a few days we're heading south to hopefully do some diving and chilling on some beaches, now we're all trekked out, so bye for now, love you all.
Dazza and donny xxxx
p.s: for anyone who knows of a cartoon from a few years ago called the wild thornberries, lee has bought some brown shorts which make him look like the little wild kid from there, called donny.
pps: Cum cab kam - 'thanks' in thai
