Hi all,

Still in Panama and sorry to say we are counting down the days till departure. It´s so hot that we don´t really go out much and stay in the hostel until about 3pm when it gets a little cooler. The temperature at the moment is 31 degrees but with the humidity it is more like the early 40´s. Hopefully we will get used to it! Also, we never really thought about, or knew, mosquitos came out during the day so Lee-Ann is covered in big bites mainly around the ankles... could be worse... we could have swine flu!

We have taken some day trips out to a zoo and had to see the canal of course. Yesterday we took a taxi down to the old town which was pretty cool. Got some great views over Panama City. It was a strange place.. half was churches and govenment buildings, and the other half was derelict ruins. Glad we are not staying there cause it felt a little dodgy, especially when we walked past one guy who was living in a burnt out car!

Tomorrow we plan on taking a boat out the Taboga Island which is about 45mins away. It will be nice to get away from car horns for the day and just sit by a beach. We don´t really know what else is there... just take it as it comes. Will be sure to post some photos.
