We are now getting ready to set off on our next group trip which takes us to Delhi, India. Tomorrow we are leaving early to Pokhara for a couple of days, then visiting Chitwan National Park and the elephant breeding center, then we cross the border into India and see some famous temples and palaces including the Taj Mahal. We are looking forward to getting out of the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu and onto the next adventure.
Over the last week, or since the last blog, we haven't really done much... mainly Christmas shopping and chilling out in the hotel room watching movie after movie on the very few english movie channels available. We have done lots of wining and dining... last night (as it was our last night before our group tour starts) we visited a bar called The Dome and listened to some live music and had a bit too much to drink. We left at midnight and the Thamel area where we are staying was the quietest we had ever seen it... it was bliss.
Oh... we went on a mountain flight on Monday which was fantastic apart from the fact I must have ate something dodgy the night before and got really sick. We were going to pospone it but I thought I would be fine, however I saw more of the inside of the sick bag than I did of the view of Everest outside the plane window! It was so embarassing... I must have filled at least 6 sick bags and the air hostess had to keep spraying air freshener!
As the rest of the week progressed, AJ's socks were still being eaten by the laundry monster and disappearing. Not only has AJ become good at haggling over prices during his travels, but now he has become very good at talking the shop owners into giving him a pair of socks free with every purchase... a "free gift" he says. He now struggles to pass by an opportunity to ask for socks and has succeeded every time. Very clever!
Anyway, no more photos have been uploaded as we haven't done anything worth taking a photo of. Can't wait to get out of here and see something new. How are we going to cope when we get back home and get itchy feet?!
Love to all,
Lee-Ann and AJ
