Me, Craig and Paolo were up fairly early this morning at 8am. Quick change and downstairs for a $4 Bacon Butty. Then on to The Bog pub to watch Arsenal vs Barcelona in the Champions League. So glad we did too as it was a brilliant game. We've got the taste for football though now.
We met up with Therese and Mel at the Yellow Rocket Cafe on Cathedral Square for a bit more breakfast - only bagels and tea. Then me and Therese went to the internet cafe to ring her grandad and wish him a happy birthday.
After that, we went for a walk in the botanical gardens and met up with the rest of the family for a stroll around. They're nice gardens, and it's a nice thing to have in a city centre.
We went for a wander around the city and was going to go into the Cathedral on Cathedral Square, but didn't bother as it cost $10 (£5)! There's lots of nice older buildings in Christchurch, there's Cathedral Square, a tram, a nice river, nice little bar areas, lots of restaurants and cafes, and it's nicely compact so you don't have to walk far to anything.
We ate at a really nice place called Pita Pit for lunch. It's a bit like Subway but they use pita bread and it's much nicer.
Me and Therese relaxed on Cathedral Square listening to the buskers for a while, sat in the sun. It's been nice to relax and not rush around sightseeing too much.
We had a nice relaxed evening tonight. We ate a place called Winnie Bagoes - I had a nice calzone and Therese had a Greek salad. Then we went to the cinema to see Black Swan. That's a very weird film about ballet. It's not a boring chick flick at all and certainly worth watching.
