No breakfast at the motel, so we sat in the car and poured our milk and cereal in the plastic cups we stole. Proper travellers.
We stopped here to go visit Downtown Disney. We're not going into the actual theme park because we went to Orlando in 2009, just going around all the shops. It's good there, but nowhere near as good as the one in Orlando. They have a pretty good Lego Store though, with big models of Woody from Toy Story and a few other things. We didn't spend as long as we thought there at all.
We had to make a stop at Best Buy (like Comet) to use a computer to pay that parking fine. The cheeky gits at San Diego council charged us a $3 "convenience fee" for paying online. Convenience!?
On our way up to our next stopover, we decided to make a stop off in LA at Griffith Observatory. Fantastic views of the city from up there and a good view of the Hollywood sign. We had a coffee and shared a huge cookie whilst watching the sunset. Very nice. Then we had a look around the planetarium for a while which was pretty good. By the time we came out, it was pitch black and the views were amazing. All the streetlights and towers lit up. The roads are so long and straight, they go on for miles. With all the street lights on we could see how huge the city is. It's like that clip that you see in Simpsons sometimes with the big Springfield sign and then all the lit up city.
We set out on our drive up to Sylmar, but got distracted on the way by a big AMC sign! That's the cinema. It was in a place called Burbank, which was pretty nice and really bustling. There was a group of youngsters playing music through these big portable speakers and doing street dancing. That's what I like about Americans, they're not easily embarrassed and are entertaining.
I was starving so grabbed a nice slice of pizza and Therese went to Pinkberry's. That's a cool place. They sell flavoured frozen yoghurt with loads of different topping choices. It's really nice. Frozen yoghurt is pretty big over here.
Anyway, we went to see The Adjustment Bureau. Brilliant film. It's a bit of a love story but a thriller with comedy thrown in. Everybody started clapping at the end...Americans are funny.
