We woke and decided to hire a scooter to explore the island. The scooter hire was just on the main road. The lady was lovely there so we booked our tickets for the next day to George Town, Malaysia with her.
At first the scooter seemed like a genius idea because we drive to another beach a little further up from where we were staying and had a gorgeous breakfast on the beach.
We donned the helmets and I held on to Lee as he took off further along the road. When we went around the corner there were windy hills both up and down. I was genuinely scared. Lee had about an hour of mrs bucket down his ear. It was way worse than a roller coaster. I couldn't help but think what if the brakes stop working (to be fair we are in Thailand and the vehicle inspections don't tend to be that thorough), what if someone else's breaks go and take us off the road, a giant pot hole, slippery road, cliff edge drops, random parked vehicle on bends..... Stressful times.
We went to a cafe on the top of one of the hills and we could see right across the island. Lee took a picture down below of the jungle like land and said is it just me or are you expecting to see a dinosaur pop it's head through. Yeah! It looked like a Jurassic park scene. We rode on to the old town where the buildings were on stilts. We stopped in a cafe for an ice cream and had rainbow flavor, lime and chocolate. It was a taste sensation! By this time I was feeling confident on the back of the bike so we did the scenic route back. By the time we'd got back the clouds had gone dark so we stocked up on food in the shop and some mixers for our vodka then went back and watched tge lightening light the sky as we eat, drank and played cards on our balcony.
