We woke to a bicycle ride. There are loads of places to hire a bike so we got a map and went off exploring there was me, Lee, Penny, Gareth, Julian and to argentine girls who i hadn't really spoken to before but they'd come along with us to the waterfall yesterday. Luang Prabang is a gorgeous, clean little town. Its got roads leading to flowery lanes which leads to alley ways to little restaurants, houses and guesthouses. The perfect place for a bicycle ride! After finding a bamboo bride (that looked like it was going to collapse when Lee stood on it) we took a turn down a side street and found Utopia. It's a cafe on the river bank with mattress' to lie on, chairs to chill on and a little garden to make your way through to get from the cafe to their riverside decking. They also have books and games for you to entertain yourself! It was just our look that they never had any bread so the butties we'd ordered half an hour ago never came.... We left to return our bikes and get a bite to eat. Gareth and Penny went with Hayley on the bus to Chang Mai and me, Lee and Julian got the bus down to Vientiane. We got on a 'VIP' bus (sorry i've got to do it in commas because seriously I haven't a clue where the VIP bit is in the bus) It's approx 10-12 hours to Vientiane (depends on the bus driver and how many stops he does)... We had a little problem with our coach door.... It kept opening. It opened on the sharp mountain bend just as I'd dosed but luckily Lee was on the ball and he managed to grab my bag before it fell off the bus down the mountain. 3 times it happened before the door finally jammed (terrifying sitting on a huge bus on the corner of a mountain not knowing if another lorry, car, bike was gonna come round and hit us head on). Other than that.. Oh yeah the 2 seats in front of us appeared to be missing a couple of bolts so their chairs bounced into our legs (including the full weight of the two men sat in them) at every bump - the road is more like a dirt track so yeah it was a smooth journey....
